Dating back to the Ancient Sumerians around 4th millennium BC, crystal healing is a technique used to help aid one's healing process by placing various types of crystals on and around the body while the client is in a relaxing, meditative state. Named after it's developer Mikao Usui, also known as Usui Sensei, Usui Reiki takes place when a trained therapist places their hands on or just above the client at 12 receptive points of the body, remaining at each point for three to five minutes. Through this action, the therapist uses their hands in order to act as a conduit for healing energy, allowing the client's energetic field as well as their body's energy flow to be strengthened.
